The Brazilian National Spearfishing Champs took place in the state of Sao Paulo on the island of Ilha Bela. Former Natal spearo Chris Ananiadis and his team take home the Gold! New SA Record - "I shot this bonito (Sarda Sarda) at Nationals in PE in April this year. It weighed in at 5.2kg (4.2kg gutted and gilled) and broke the SA record by quite a significant margin (3.67kg since 1967). Having learnt my diving in PE it felt fitting that I was able to succesfully shoot and claim an SA record where it all started 7 years ago. The fish was shot on the wreck of the Mv Kapodistrias on the 2nd day of the comp" - Corry

Tuna off the Eastern Cape - The Eastern Cape divers have been venturing out to the Tuna grounds in hope of finding the same amount and size of fish that their Cape Town counter parts do. Unfortunately this has not been the case with very little fish been seen and speared. Read More! The following is a recount of an absolutely phenomenal day involving 2 Marlin, a crocodile Couta, massive Kaakaps, Dusky Yellowtail and a wayward Cape Yellowtail.
